How notifications are counted

Usage counts the notifications actually delivered. One publish to a topic with five subscribed phones counts as five. A publish to a topic with nobody subscribed yet still counts as one, because the message is stored in the topic’s history.

Your namespace dashboard shows a live usage meter, and the allowance resets on the 1st of each month. See Plans & errors for the full detail.

Questions

Do the people who get my alerts need to pay or sign up?

No. Receiving is free on every plan and needs no account. People install the Pinglet app and open a topic’s subscribe link or scan its QR code. Only the person sending needs a Pinglet account.

How does the Pro free trial work?

Pro starts with a 14-day free trial. Your card is taken at checkout, but nothing is charged during the trial. Cancel before it ends and you’re never billed.

What happens if I go over my monthly notifications?

Publishing pauses until your allowance resets on the 1st of the month: the API returns 402 with an explanation, and nothing is charged. Upgrade to Pro at any time to carry on straight away. Heartbeat alerts are always delivered, even over the limit, so you still hear when something stops checking in.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes, from your dashboard. Pro stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, then your account moves back to the free Solo plan and its limits.

Do you offer refunds?

If you pay for Pro and change your mind, you can get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment. The refund policy has the details.

Which currencies can I pay in, and is tax included?

You can pay in pounds, euros or US dollars. Prices exclude VAT and sales tax, which are added at checkout where they apply. Payments are handled by Stripe.

What’s the difference between a namespace and a topic?

A namespace is the space your topics live in, such as acme, and your API keys belong to it. Topics are the channels inside it, such as acme/deploys or acme/backups, and each has its own subscribers. Solo gives you one namespace with as many topics as you like; Pro lets you have several, for separate projects or clients.
